Dr.Dereck Dr. Dereck Blazquez was born and raised in the island of Puerto Rico. He decided to leave his Hometown, Vega Baja in 2018 to start his journey as a healthcareprovider here at Life University in Marietta, Georgia.  Being a Division II basketball athlete back in college, he knew in his heart that he wanted to pursue a career that would help people’s overall health. One day, his father read him a newspaper with an article titled “Chiropractic in sports” and that was it. Everything in the article made sense to him. He ended up visiting a Chiropractor and right after that he signed up for Chiropractic School. The doctor ended up graduating with a Chiropractic Degree from LIFE University in 2022 and started working right after. Dr. Dereck came into the Windy Hill Chiropractic Team with a lot of knowledge in Upper Cervical care, Diversified Adjusting Techniques, Extremity Adjusting, Soft Tissue work, Pediatrics, Perinatal care, and Sport Injury Rehab. All of which he has attended through certification courses and continuing education. Throughout the doctorate program he also sought out time to take care of professional basketball players and high school basketball teams with mobility, stretching and Soft tissue care.

In his free time, Dr. Dereck likes to spend time with his beautiful fiancé, Paola and walking his majestic great dane, Bleu. His other hobbies include fitness training, playing basketball, going to the beach, snorkeling, paddle boarding , drawing, playing chess and going on road trips.

“My Mission is to teach patients in our community that most health issues have an answer within our powerful bodies. We just have to be willing enough to take on the challenge and start making adjustments in your: Spine, Physical Activity, Diet, Sleeping Pattern, among others. The solution is out there, you just have to take Action. Only you have control over your health and we are here to help you reach it.”

Shannon is the lead laser tech at Windy Hill Chiropractic. Never in a MILLION years would she have guessed that she would  work in her husband s office. Dr. Bob and Shannon have been married since 2014, and each have kids from previous marriages As a 30-year radiologic technologist/radiation therapist, her background blends well with the technology behind the laser and it's biologic effects in tissue. Shannon is an active part-time radiation therapist at Northside Hospital, and still enjoys the profession, working alongside top doctors and physicists, and caring for patients undergoing radiation for cancer treatments.

In November/December of 2021, it was the effect of the Summus Laser on Shannon's dysfunctional TMJ (jaw) that ultimately helped Dr. Bob make the decision to add the modality of class IV laser therapy to his practice. Shannon loves being in the office providing laser treatments to patients and building relationships. She's especially happy to work alongside Dr.

Bob, Dr. Bobby and Dr. Dereck, being just a small part of the excellent care provided by the doctors at WHC. She is proud of her husband and the relationships that he has built over 31 years in this location. After implementing the laser two years ago, and treating various acute and chronic conditions, Shannon can confidently say, "I honestly believe laser therapy should be a part of everyone's self-care/recovery repertoire alongside chiropractic, massage, physical therapy, and even by itself. But the best thing about laser is that SO much benefit is provided in most cases in just a 15-minute appointment." Her goal for 2024 is for the laser to become utilized enough that we have to hire and train another laser tech or two!

Outside of work, Shannon loves caring for and being with her 2 young adult sons in various stages of life, 2 teenage daughters at home, 2 grandsons (the BEST!!), 3 dogs, and 1 cat. She loves Jesus, worship, and her church-family. Shannon's hobbies include travel, mountain-biking, paddle-boarding, hiking, camping, and just about anything outdoors. Over the past year, she has developed a new passion for practicing wing chun kung fu for physical and mental fitness. Shannon believes that ANYONE at ANY stage of life has the power to improve their own health, and is here to encourage you on your personal goals!
